Privacy Policy — Lunaia

Last updated: 5 September 2026

This policy explains how we handle your information in the Lunaia mobile app. Our website privacy policy is separate and covers visitors to selenesanctuary.com.

1. Who we are. Lunaia is provided by Selene Sanctuary Ltd ("we", "us", "our"), a private limited company registered in England and Wales, company number 17417416, registered office 167–169 Great Portland Street, 5th Floor, London, W1W 5PF. We are the data controller for the personal information you provide in the app, and we are registered with the UK Information Commissioner's Office. For any privacy question, contact privacy@selenesanctuary.com .

2. What we collect. Account information: your email address, your name if you give it, and your date of birth. Cycle and wellbeing information that you choose to record: period dates, cycle and period length, the phase you are in, moods, symptoms, energy levels, sexual wellbeing (libido) levels, free-text notes, and journal entries. Vision board content: any images and text you add. App activity: your check-in history and streak counts. Basic technical information needed to run and secure the service.

3. Health data and your explicit consent. Your cycle, symptom, mood, sexual wellbeing and journal information is 'special category' health data under UK GDPR. We process it only with your explicit consent, which you give during onboarding by ticking a clear, unticked box. You can withdraw that consent at any time in the app under Profile, and you can delete your data at any time. Our lawful bases are Article 6(1)(a) consent and Article 9(2)(a) explicit consent.

4. What we use it for. To provide your personal cycle tracking, your daily guidance, your journal and your check-ins; to maintain, secure and improve the app; and to comply with our legal obligations. That is all. We do not sell your data. We do not use your health data for advertising. We do not use it to build profiles for third parties, and we will never use it to determine employment or insurance eligibility.

5. Who processes your data. We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf under written data processing agreements, providing application hosting, database and file storage. We keep this list short deliberately. Where a provider processes data outside the UK, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, together with a transfer risk assessment.

6. Where your data is held. We store your data in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area wherever our providers offer it.

7. Visitors to this website. This section covers lunaiaapp.com itself, as distinct from the app. If you join our mailing list, we use your email address only to let you know when Lunaia opens and when new sanctuaries arrive; our lawful basis is your consent, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email. If you submit a deletion request through this site, we use the details you give us solely to verify and carry out that request, and to keep a minimal record that we did so; our lawful basis is compliance with our legal obligations. This site uses essential cookies to function, and analytics cookies only if you agree — see our Cookie Policy . We do not sell any of this information, and we do not use it for advertising.

8. How long we keep it. We keep your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your data from our live systems straight away, and copies held in routine backups are deleted or put beyond use within 30 days. If you stop using Lunaia without deleting your account, we may delete inactive accounts after a reasonable period, and we will email you first.

9. Your rights. You have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, receive a copy of it in a portable format, and withdraw your consent at any time. The app includes tools to export your data and to delete your account. To exercise any other right, email privacy@selenesanctuary.com and we will respond within one month.

10. Deleting your account and data. You can delete your account and all your data from within the app, under Profile. You can also request deletion without installing the app — see lunaiaapp.com/data-deletion .

11. Complaints. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first at privacy@selenesanctuary.com — we will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days and respond as quickly as we can. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk .

12. Children. Lunaia is for users aged 13 and over. We ask for your date of birth during onboarding and do not knowingly allow accounts for children under 13. If we learn that we hold data for a child under 13, we delete it.

13. Security. We protect your information with encryption in transit, access controls, and providers who meet recognised security standards.

14. Changes to this policy. If we make a material change, we will tell you in the app at least 14 days before it takes effect. The current version is always here with its date.

Terms of Use — Lunaia

Last updated: 5 September 2026

Who we are. Lunaia is provided by Selene Sanctuary Ltd, a private limited company registered in England and Wales, company number 17417416, registered office 167–169 Great Portland Street, 5th Floor, London, W1W 5PF. By using Lunaia you agree to these terms.

What Lunaia is — and is not. Lunaia is a wellness and lifestyle companion for education and self-reflection around the menstrual cycle. Lunaia is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. It is not a contraceptive, not a fertility tool, and not a diagnostic service. Cycle predictions are calendar-based estimates and can be inaccurate. Do not use Lunaia as a method of contraception, or to plan or prevent pregnancy. Nothing in Lunaia is medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional about your health, medication, supplements or symptoms, and never delay seeking care because of something you have read in the app.

Eligibility. You must be at least 13 years old to use Lunaia.

Your account. Keep your login details safe, and let us know if you think someone else has access. You are responsible for activity on your account. You can delete your account and your data at any time in the app.

Your content. Your journal entries, notes and images remain yours. You grant us only the limited permission we need to store them and show them back to you within the app.

Price. Lunaia is currently free. If we introduce optional paid features in future, they will be offered through the app store's own billing system, with clear pricing shown before you pay, and these terms will be updated.

Acceptable use. Please do not misuse the app, attempt to access other people's information, interfere with how it works, or use it for anything unlawful.

Intellectual property. The Lunaia app, its design, content and branding are owned by or licensed to us. Please do not copy or redistribute them.

Availability. We work hard to keep Lunaia available and accurate, but we provide it "as is" and cannot guarantee it will always be uninterrupted or error-free.

Liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, Lunaia. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Ending your use. You can stop using Lunaia and delete your account at any time. We may suspend accounts that breach these terms, and we may retire the service with reasonable notice.

Governing law. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.

Changes. We may update these terms; we will tell you in the app at least 14 days before a material change takes effect.

Delete your Lunaia account and data

Last updated: 5 September 2026

You are always in control of your information. There are two ways to delete your Lunaia account and everything in it.

In the app (fastest). Open Lunaia, go to Profile, and choose 'Delete my account and data'. Confirm, and your account and data are deleted straight away.

By request (no app needed). If you cannot access the app, fill in the form below or email privacy@selenesanctuary.com from the email address on your account, with the subject 'Delete my account'. We will verify your request and confirm by email when it is done, within 30 days and usually much sooner.

What gets deleted. Everything associated with your account: your account details and date of birth, your cycle history and period dates, your daily check-ins, moods, symptoms, energy and libido entries, your free-text notes, your journal entries, your vision boards and any images you uploaded, and your app activity and streaks.

What we may keep, and why. We keep nothing for marketing. We may retain a minimal record of your deletion request itself, and anything we are legally required to keep, for as long as the law requires. Copies of your data held in routine security backups are deleted or put beyond use within 30 days.

Prefer to keep your account but stop some processing? You can withdraw your consent to specific processing at any time inside the app, under Profile, without deleting your account.

What cookies are. Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. Some are needed for the site to work; others are optional.

Essential cookies. These make the site function — remembering your cookie choice, keeping the site secure, and letting pages load correctly. They cannot be switched off, and we do not need your permission for them.

Analytics cookies (optional). If you choose "Accept all", we use analytics cookies to understand which pages people find useful, so we can improve the site. They tell us things like which pages are visited and for how long. If you choose "Essential only", we do not set them at all.

We do not use advertising cookies. We do not track you across other websites, and we do not sell any information collected through cookies.

Changing your mind. You can change your cookie choice at any time using the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer of any page. You can also clear or block cookies in your browser settings, though the site may not work properly without the essential ones.
